Synopsis:
Three teens venture into the abandoned Monroe estate one night; hours later, only two emerge from the burning wreckage. Chloe drags one Reznick brother to safety, unconscious and bleeding; the other is left to burn, dead in the fire. But which brother survives? And is his death a tragic accident? Desperate self-defense? Or murder?
Chloe is the only one with the answers. As the fire rages, and police and parents demand the truth, she struggles to piece together the story of how they got there-a story of jealousy, twisted passion, and the darkness that lurks behind even the most beautiful of faces…

I received an e-ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. This fact in no shape or form affects my review. Except for the existence of the review itself. I received no compensation for this review in any way. This is my honest opinion of the work.

Abigail Haas, you have got some mad skills. How the hell do you even come up with stories like this?

This book was fan-freaking-tastic. It has a creepy vibe from the beginning. The novel starts out near the end of the story and the reader meets the three main characters in a dangerous situation. It managed to give me a sense of dread since the beginning and based on that snippet of the future. I could see the lines that were cleverly placed to foreshadow the events to happen. This book leads you to one end, just to jerk you around the corner. It kept twisting me around and nearly everything I predicted wasn't true. The one thing that I managed to predict, is that some of the main characters are batshit crazy.

Chloe has a horrible home life, where she's stuck taking care of her depressed mother and she can't escape their little town in Indiana. She meets Ethan Reznick and they start dating. He manages to take her mind off her depressing home life and the fact that she is stuck in a suffocating little town. Ethan is sweet and caring: a great boyfriend. Then, enter Oliver, Ethan's older brother. He is dark and all about "being your true self." The Reznick brothers are probably the best definition of the little angel and little devil floating above the proverbial shoulder, this case being Chloe's shoulder.

When I first started reading it and saw that chapters were labeled, before and after and now, I thought it was going to be like THE GOOD GIRL. And while The Good Girl was a good thriller it was a little predictable. DANGEROUS BOYS kept me guessing the entire time. I never knew for certain what was going to happen next. I could feel my heart racing as I read this book. Oh man.

This book is addictive and you'll want to keep reading it, no matter what's going on in the moment. It's a fantastic thriller and it'll keep you on the edge of your seat, wondering what the truth is. I really recommend this read, especially if you're into the psychological thrillers or the darker sides of crime shows. Yes. This book is fantastic.

Happy Reading!
